TIRAU. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s Tirau sale on Thursday there was a medium yarding penned, beef and store cattle showing an easier tendency. Quotations: Medium fat cows, £7 15s to £S 10s; light fat cows, £6 15s to £7 7s; forward conditioned cows £5 to £6 ss; store cows, £3 5s to £4. Pigs.—Slips 20 to 22s 6d; weaners, best, 12s to 16s, smaller 7s to 10s. MATAMATA. Dalgety and Company conducted the weekly stock sale at Matamata, where the usual pre-Christmas slackening off in the entry was noted. Beef Cattle.—Fat cows, £8 Is to £lO 2s 6d; forward-conditioned cows, £6 12s 6d to £7 15s; stores, £3 10s to £4 ss; 15-months Holstein heifers, r.w.b. £6 ss; Jersey bulls, £7 15s to £8 ss. Dairy Cattle.—Cows, £7 to £i); heifers, up to £7. Sheep.—Shorn ewes with lambs at foot 21s, all counted. There were IS9 ewes and 108 lambs. : HAMILTON. . At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday, only a medium yarding of beef came forward, including a few pens of ox beef which did not reach the reserve and were passed in. Cow beef was in firm demand, good quality making up to 38s per 1001 b. There was a medium yarding of sheep which was in good demand, prices showing an improvement. There was a heavy yarding of pigs, baconers and porkers being in good demand, while the market was easier for stores and weaners.
