WOMEN’S DIVISION. The usual monthly meeting of the Putaruru branch of the Women’s Division was held in the Town Hall supper room on Saturday. The attendance was smaller than usual, the following ladies being present: Mesdames Baldwin, Voyce, Scott, Robinson, Ranger, Morrison, Allwood', Berman, Sneddon and the secretary. Upon the conclusion of the ordinary routine of business, a discussion arose as to a means of augmenting the Rest Room fund. It was decided that each member be given the sum iof half-a-crown, to spend as she I thinks fit, any profit to go towards I the division furcls. It was decided, on the motion of Mrs. Scott, supported- by Mrs. Allwood, that a tennis afternoon be held
on Mrs. Karl’s court, with a two-fold object. In the first place it was intended to take the form of a welcome home to Mrs. Tomulin, who is shortly to return from her overseas trip, and secondly to hold a small bring and buy stall, afternoon tea, etc., towards the Rest Room fund. On the motion of Mrs. Baldwin, two : new members, Mesdames Barr Brown | and Spear, were then enrolled. 1 All the ladies present expressed I their 'sympathy with Mrs. Brown, j whose son recently met with such a j painful accident, and it is the sincere I hope of the Women’s Division that I Mr. Brown’s progress may be satisfactory and speedy.
A dainty afternoon tea concluded the proceedings.
