EXPORTING OF PIGS.

The New Zealand Fig Marketing Association reports that the Home market for porkers remains quiet, owing to the mildness of the early English winter. However, it is expected to firm almost immediately. Our first supply of porkers for the coming season should reach London in a few days. The exact position . f the baconer market is difficult to ascertain, as at the moment there are practically no New Zealand pigs cffering. The Australian market is at the moment firm, though the shipping strike is making it somewhat difficult to get supplies over.

During the month the fourth baconer pool has been finalised, the total pay-out, including advance, being 43d. The third, fourth, fifth and /sixth chopper pools have also been finalised with a total pay-out of 2§d per lb. The second, third, fourth and (fifth porker pools have still to be cleared up.
