1 Heavy frosts were experienced on two recent evenings and these played . havoc with most gardens in the dis- ' trict. The fine weather had induced gardeners to believe in an early season, but potatoes and tomates- especially will now be late. Ti-liCjS. The T:: au Tennis Club was to have held its official opening last Saturday, but the inclement weather caused a postponement. The opening was held yesterday. Personal. , Mrs. J. Stewart is on a holiday visit to Auckland. Miss Myra Monk is the guest of Mrs. W. D. Fraser. Mrs. Kelly (nee Miss Elsie Hamlin), of Te Aroha, was on a visit to her parents at Tirau this week. Mr. R. Naysmith is spending his holidays at Whangarei.
