While engaged in fixing his milking machine engine last night when it had broken down Mr. P,,D. Sneddon, of Lichfield, was severely- scalded on the top of his head.

The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. A. Webb, of Morrinsville, at the age of 75 years. Mr. Webb was well known in Morrinsville, where he lived a retired life. He was born in England and came to New Zealand as a young man. He settled in the Nelson district, where he was engaged in farming. After disposing of his farm he came to live in Morrinsville, arriving about six years ago. He had just returned bom a holiday trip to Nelson when he was taken ill and passed away. Mr. Webb is survived by a son, Mr. G. Webb, Morrinsville, and seven daughters, Mrs. L. Hollard (Eltham), Mrs. C. Castle (Napier), Mrs. A. Brough (Nelson), Mrs. H. Biggs (Tapawera), Mrs. H. Biggs (Kahatu) and Mrs. M. Ship (Taihape).

Attention is drawn to the fair to be held in the Presbyterian Hall on Thursday, November 1, commencing at 11 a.m. Lunch and afternoon tea stalls and competitions.* The special Methodist Maori Mission Party which has been advertised for the last few- weeks will give a unique and fascinating programme of music, song and oratory to-night at 7.45 o’clock in the Public Hall, Putaruru. The party has won exceptional popularity throughout the Dominion. Some 17 striking and realistic items will be presented.*
