Presbyterian Church

SUNDAY SCHOOL CONCERT. A concert arranged by the teachers of the Putaruru Presbyterian Sunday School to mark the first anniversary of the school was held on Friday, the 7th, and proved a great success in spite of the stormy weather. There was a good attendance and all the performers were well received. The concert items ware interspersed with games anc. at the close of the evening a dainty supper was provided by the ladies.

As a result of the evening the Sunday School price fund will benefit to the extent of £5. The programme was as follows : Opening chorus, “ Dear Friends,” the choir ; recitation, “ Daisies,” Pat Deed and Zel Runciman ; song, “ Disobedient Duckling,” Arnold Tongs and Reid Gawith ; recitation, “ Blacking Brigade,” six boys ; recitation, “ Sunflowers,” six girls ; song, “ Twinkling Star,” the choir ; recitation, “ Reason Why,” Souia Deed ; song, “ Excursion Train,” the boys ; recitation, “ Two Little Dunces,” Joyce Deed and Doris Hall ; recitation, “ Twins,” Ernest Snell ; song, “ Girlies from Japan,” the girls ; so.ng, “ Sailors True and Brave,” the boys ; recitation, “ Vote of Thanks,” Ronald Benton and Bert Gawith ; song, “ Good-night All,” the choir.
