Horses For Hunt Meeting. Cr. Carmont, senr., the Matamata mentor, intended to start Furrie at Avondale, but the mare contracted a cold and had to be let up. The daughter of Feramorz is right again now and will probably race at the Waikato Hunt meeting. Red Day (Day Comet —Ruby) is now in C. Carmont’s charge and has filled out into a very solid mare since last season. She will not, on appearances, give of her best until Christmas. - Unoco (Some Boy ll.—Matapara) is shaping well in Carmont’s stable, and will in all probability be a starter at Te Rapa next month. Unoco

is owned by its trainer, in partnership with Mr. R. Brown, of Te Arolia. Unoco shows promise over sprint distances. Oscar is being put over the small battens by R. H. Martin, and will probably be a starter at the Waikato Hunt meeting. Oscar should make good at the hurdling game. Leitrim, the Matamata-trained equine, will have its first start since the last Te Aroha meeting at Avondale on Saturday, in the second division of the maiden race. R. J. Mateer’s string of juveniles continues to thrive on the gentle ivor 1 - being given. There will be wins from this stable in the summer.
