BITUMEN EDGES DAMAGED Engineer Castigates Lorry Driver. “ The damaging of the edges of bitumen roads by motorists who are incapable of steering their vehicles properly is not very prevalent in this county, but, judging from appearances between Matamata and Hinuera, there is some person who drives a motor lorry in that locality who studies neither the preservation of his vehicle nor the roads. Having cut out a string of holes along the edge of the me’tal he still bumps along in the same track,” said the Matamata county engineer at last council meeting.
