TOKOROA CHEESE FACTORY.

NINTH ANNUAL REPORT. A Successful Season. Reviewing the past season, the report to be placed bexore the ninth annual meeting of the, Tokoroa Dairy Company states that the past year has been a most successful one and has surpassed expectations. The output of cheese was over 229 tons, which is a record for the Company and compares most favourably with the previous season’s output of 141 tons. The season had been satisfactory also in regard to sales. The whole of .the export cheese sent to cool store had been realised, and owing to prompt shipments freezing charges had been considerably reduced. Interest charges also had been greatly reduced on account of early realisations. Export cheese had been disposed of up to 9d per pound f.0.b., mediums 83d to lOid, and local sales had been made at lOd per pound. The average advance payments made to suppliers for the season amounted to Is -6d per pound of butterfat. As practically the whole of the season’s output had been realised the trading figures disclose that it was possible to make a final bonus payment of id per pound over the whole of the butterfat supplied for the season, bringing the total payment up to Is 63d. It is anticipated that the coming season’s output will show a further increase, and a contract has been let to make certain alterations to the factory to cope with a larger supply of milk. ,

The retiring directors are Messrs. J. Mossop and J. Campbell, who are eligible for re-election. Mr. T. J. Ryan again offers his services as auditor.

The statistics for the year are as follow : Pounds of cheese made (factory weight), 513,2103 (229 tons 2 cwt 0 quarters 263 pounds) ; pounds of milk received, 5,118,706 ; pounds of butterfat, 199,202 ; average test, 3.89 ; pounds of milk to make one pound of cheese, 9.97 ; pounds of cheese to one pound of butterfat, 2.69 ; pounds of cheese from 100 pounds of milk, 10.03 ; factory payout per pound of butterfat last season, Is 3d ; number of suppliers, 20 ; number of cows supplying factory, 1000 ; average pounds of butterfat per cow, 200.
