TIRAU CLUB. The annual meeting of the Tirau Bowling Club was held on Friday evening, Mr. T. Little presiding. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts for the year had balanced the expenditure after paying for various improvements to the green. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. J. W. Anderson; president, Mr. T. Little; vice-presidents, Messrs. S. J. Bear and A. Mouldey; secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. E. Hirst; committee, Messrs. F. Rose, W. Main, J. Watson, W. Craig, R. Naysmith, K. R. Litchfield and N. Horscroft; green superintendent, Mr. W. Main; selectors, Messrs. F. Rose and W. Main.
Eulogistic references were made regarding the services rendered by the secretary, Mr. Hirst, who although r.ew to the game, had carried out his duties in a most capable manner, even going out of the sphere usual to secretaries for the welfare of members. It is expected that the club will commence its new season with a largely augmented membership.
