MAT AM AT A MEETING. Average Payout Is 8.34 d. The annual meeting of cheese suppliers and shareholders of the Matamata cheese factory', N.Z.C.D.C., Ltd., was held on Monday afternoon, Mr. E. C. Banks presiding. Officials present were: Mr. Dynes Fulton, chairman of directors; Mr. J. T. Bryant, director; Mr. H. H. Sterling, general manager; Mr. W. C. Nixon, cheese supervisor; and Mr. J. B. Ivnyvett, local organiser. Mr. Sterling ana Mr. Dixon addressed the meeting, the former on the general and the latter more on the local aspects of the business. The statistics are as follow: Total payout, 20.34 d per lb. Lbs. milk, 15,312,447. Average test, 3.862. Lbs. butterfat, 591,438. Lbs. cheese, 1,530,841. Ratio, 2.588. Whey cream recovery per 1001 b of butterfat received, 5.054. Mr. Sterling congratulated Mr. Barnes and the factory staff generally on securing third place in the Fardley Shield competition. Regarding standardisation, Mr. Sterling said the Dairy Division was
hot likely to act unless there was fair measure of agreement among dairymen themselves ort the matter. However, a meeting of tile Federatlm* was to be held at Hawera on Augiist 31, when some finality might be se-« cured. The old committee was re-elected, as follows: Messrs. E. C. Banks (convenor), P. Finlayson, T. Prowse, A. Crowther. Votes of thanks were passed to'the committee, the officials and the staff.
