The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated August 10, 1928, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for week ending that date as follows: N.Z. Wethers and Maidens. Canterbury quality, selected brands, 561 b and under 7 id, 571 b to 641 b 7gd, 651 b to 721 b 7ld; other brands, 561 b and under 7id, 571 b to 641 b 7id, 651 b tQ 721 b 6id. N.Z. ewes, 641 b and under, 52d. N.Z. Lambs.—Canterbury quality. 361 b and under lOgd, 371 bto 421 b 101 d, 431 b to 501 b 92d; seconds, 1 Od; selected brands, 861 b and under lOgd; 371 b to 421 b lOld; other brands, first quality, 361 b and under lOld, 371 b to 421 b lOd; second quality, 301 b to 321 b average, 10id. N.Z. Beef.—Ox fores 3gd, ox hinds 64d, cow fores 3ld, cow hinds 51d. Argencine Chilled Beef.—Ox fores 4id, ox hinds 84d. Frozen Park.—Porkers, 601 b to 801 b 7id, 811 b to 991 b 7d, 1001 b to 1201 b 7d; baconers, 1211 b to 1801 b 74d. Lamb.—Market strong; consumption good. Mutton.—Market very firm. Beef.—Market firm with good demand. N.Z. Porker Pigs.—Market steady, but slow demand owing to weather. N.Z. Baconer Figs.—Small stocks meeting good demand.
