RULES APPLIED. For Time Being! “ I haven’t a resolution to move,” stated one of the mildest members of the Matamata County Council warily just after a member had been ordered to resume his seat, because he was not sponsoring a motion. “ But I would like to know if I have got things correctly.” Suspicion having been thus disarmed, the member for Te Poi wis allowed his say. Not so easy was the path of the member for Maungatautari, however. He was challenged by Cr. Darby, or as a result of this member’s promptings, on four or five occasions when he failed in his opening remarks to suggest a resolution. “ You’ve got to treat ’em all alike,” was Cr. Darby’s comment. Each time, However, Cr. Judd displayed a thirst for knowledge, produced a point of order, or rose to make a personal explanation, thus escaping threatened trouble.
