Okoroire.
Farewell Presentation. The Okoroire settlers tendered a very enjoyable evening to Mr. Arthur Totman, who is shortly leaving on an extended tour of the Old Country, on ! Saturday. Held at the residence of ! Mr. and Mrs. E. Worth, the evening took the form of a smoke concert. Mr P. Cotter, of Hinuera, presided. Mr. R. Carruth, on behalf of the settlers of the district, asked the guest of the evening to accept a handsome travelling rug and a set of pipes as a token of respect and good wishes for a h a PPy voyage and safe return. Others present made reference to the high esteem in which Mr. Totman was held in the district. Mr. Totman suitably replied. During the evening vocal items were rendered by Messrs. R. Carruth, P. Cotter, John Watson, J. Beeby and Jack Worth. The ladies provided an excellent supper, and prior to the' dispersal of the gathering Mr. Cotter thanked the host and hostess (Mr. and Mrs. Worth) for their kindness in placing their residence at the settlers’ disposal.
