Cambridge Dairying.

BRUNTWOOD COMPANY. Annual Report. The report of the directors of the Brentwood (Cambridge) Dairy Company, as presented to the annual meeting of shareholders, contained the following:—

“ Advances have been made during the year on account of butterfat at the rate of 17.24 d per pound. “ During the year 11,591,2781 b of milk were received, yielding 452,115.611 bof butterfat. From this 1,187,20841 bor 530 tons Bilb of cheese were made. It took 9.76431 b of milk to make lib of cheese, and lib of butterfat made 2.71961 b of cheese. The average test for the season was 3.9005. The average grading was 91.898. The cost of manufacture was 1.0243 d per pound of cheese, distribution .10593 d per pound, and overhead expenses .30687 d per pound, a total cost of 1.43710 d per pound.” The board recommended that out of the estimated surplus standing in the profit and loss account at £6067 15s 2d a further payment of 3d per pound butterfat be made, thus bringing the total payout for the season to date to 20.24 d per pound butterfat.
