High Producers.

FINE DAIRY HERD. Returns at Piako. Despite the drought the Jersey herd owned by Mr. J. A. Sanders, Fiako, made a particularly fine return and there are several potable individual achievements.

The average of six heifers, according to New Zealand Herd-testing Association figures, was 295.421 b of fat, while six second-calvers produced 370.051 b. The average of 23 matured cows was 3891 b. The fine figure of 367.121 b was the average of the herd in 292 days. One heifer put up the record of 3911 bin 309 days. The best effort, however, was that of a cow, which in 310 days produced 543.461 b. All this season’s heifer calves have been sold at birth at £2 2s a head.
