LAND AUCTION SALE.
LICHFIELD SECTIONS SOLD. No Bids for Matamata Sites. There was no competition for the sections offered by public auction in the Matamata Courthouse on Friday. The sale was conducted by Mr. M. Gavin, senior field inspector, Hamilton, and Mr. T. Tudhope, secretary of the Land Board, Auckland. The sections offered, details pertaining thereto, were:— Lot I.—Sections 4,5, 7 and 9, Block V., Lichfield village (Selwyn settlement), area 6 acres 2 roods, upset price £2o—purchased by Mr. F. T. Dudley, Putaruru, £2O. Lot 2.—Sections 5,9, 11, 13, 15 and 17, Block VI., situated in Lichfield village, area 5 acres 2 roods, upsV price £2o—Mr. IT. C. Parkington, Putaruru, £2O.
Lot 3.—Section 13, Block XIV., Matamata town, area 1 rood, upset price £llo—passed in. Section 1 (upset price £7O, loading £3 10s), 2 (upset price £7O, loading £4 15s), 3 (upset price 170, loading £3 10s), 4 (upset price @7O, loading £5), 5 (upset price £75, loading £6), one rood in area and situated in Tamihana street, all passed in. Lot 4.—Section 5, Block 111., Putaruru village (Selywn settlement), weighted with £2, valuation for improvements comprising 8 chains of fencing, to be paid for in cash; no water; area 1 acre, upset price £l3t> passed in without bid.
