A TOUR ROUND.

ij MODERN ROABING. H Power Grader Popular. Mr. M. E. Fitzgerald, accompanied by Mrs. Fitzgerald, returned a few days ago from a motor tour, in which i over 1200 miles of roads were traI versed, including about 200 miles , with Highways Board officials. They t i went first to Napier and Taupo and ■ on to Wellington, then to Wanganui l and Taranaki. Asked how the bituminised roads were standing the traffic in Taranaki, Mr. Fitzgerald said they were wearing well. In most places resurfacing was being done, but not reconstruction. The only really-rough road met with was out i from Mokau up the valley. Everywhere it was very noticeable that the counties were using the power graders, going round all the roads frequently and systematically.
