PUTARURU V. KIA ORA. These teams met at Putaruru on Saturday and a good game ended in an easy victory for the home team. The teams were:— Putaruru (red and white). —Goal, Miss Sneddon ; backs, Mrs. Brown, Miss Gallagher ; halves, Miss E. Rolfe, Miss Dunstan, Miss O. Benton ; forwards, Misses Semple, M. Rolfe, E. Wheeler, Berg, J. Sneddon. Kia Ora (blue and white). —Goal, Mrs. N. Ure ; backs, Mrs. Richards, Miss Poa ; halves, Misses M. Thompson, W. Rifle, M. Bluegum ; forwards, Mrs. T. Hunt, Mrs. Heke, Misses Martin, Sam, L. Poa. Mr. Griffiths was umpire.

The score is not a true reflection of play, for the Maori team were often on attack but their efforts in this direction were almost rendered harmless through there being little support accorded the Individual attackers iby the team as a whole. With a little coaching the Kia Ora team would develop into a fine side, for they are keen, tackle well and are hard hitters. As yet, however, they have no idea of combined work. The Putaruru team gave a much improved showing, particularly near the circle, where the forwards attacked determinedly and were well supported by the halves. With the wind the home team notched six goals in 'the first half, the scorers being Misses Berg, Benton, Wheeler, M. Rolfe, Semple and Dunstan. Shortly after the interval Miss Thompson scored for the Maoris, while further goals were added for the home team by Misses Wheeler and Berg. v The following team has been selected to represent Putaruru against Kia Ora on Saturday at Putaruru : Goal, Mrs. Anderson ; backs, Mrs. Brown, Miss Gallagher ; halves, Misses E. Rolfe, Dunstan, O. Benton ; forwards, Misses Semple, M. Rofle, E. Wheeler, Berg, Lopdell ; reserves, Misses N. and J. Sneddon, 1,. Miller, N. Benton.
