THE MATAMATA CLUB. Meeting of Executive. A meeting of the executive of the Matamata Racing Club was held on Wednesday night. Present : Messrs. G. G. Bell (president), J. Clothier, R. Casey, R. Young, Geo. Johnston, J. Montague, C. G. Payze, J. Price, J. Downie, J. P. White, A. H. Davies, F. Hitchcock and 'A. Stewart. Mr. B. Simpson, secretary of the Matamata Boy Scouts’ Baud, wrote thanking the club for a donation of £5. It was stated that the Auckland Provincial Country Clubs’ Conference had recommended February 2 as the date for Matamata for 1929. The Government refund was forwarded, being £246 2s 4d, or li per cent, on a turnover of £19,689 10s.

Representation. Mr. Bell moved and Mr. Davies seconded a motion that at the next conference of • the Country Clubs’ Association the Matamata representative press for more equitable representation of country clubs on the Auckland District Committee.—Carried.

Lease of Ground. Mr. A'. Campbell applied for a renewal of his lease of the course. He would require to know soon, in,order to arrange either for topdressing or removal of stock. Mr. Price moved that renewal for three years he offered, subject to an increase of not more than £SO per annum if the ground is vacated by the Golf Club. Mr. Davies seconded. —Carried. It was commented that Mr. Campbell had done the fair thing to the club’s course. Loose Boxes. The president reported that the new loose boxes had been completed. It was decided to make arrangements for letting the boxes. The president was deputed to attend the New Zealand racing clubs’ conference, and, failing him, Mr. Price. New Members. Messrs. Arthur Lennord, Arty Lennord and T. J. Hickey, all of Waihou, and W. Wilson, of Walton, proposed by Mr. Price and seconded by Mr. Bell, were elected as members.
