Gardner Brown presided over a meeting of delegates of the Piako Hockey Association, at Matamata, on Wednesday evening. Delegates present were: Miss Blackmoore, Messrs. Harvie and H. Ward (Te Aroha), C. Crickett, J. A. Thompson (Morrinsville), D. Whitehead, D. Hawes and A. E. Wrigley (secretary, Matamata). The subject of whether or not the association should remain affiliated to the Auckland association or apply for re-affiliation to the Waikato association was fully discussed at length, and finally, on the motion of Messrs. Thompson and Harvie, it was decided that the association saw no reason for severing its - connection with the Auckland association, and strongly opposed any affiliation with the Waikato association. Te Aroha and Morrinsville voted for the motion and Matamata against it. The secretary was instructed to forward a copy of the decision to the Auckland association. It was decided to oppose any alterations in the White Horse Cup competition. On the motion of Mr. Ward, it was agreed that both a ladies’ and men’s team should be entered for the White Horse Cup. On the suggestion of Mr. Whitehead, it was agreed to suspend all club games until after the competition at Auckland. Permission was granted to the Te Aroha ladies’ club to arrange a game against Putaruru, and to the Matamata men’s club to play Cambridge and Putaruru. It was decided that the Te Aroha ladies’ team should benefit by default of Matamata. The Representative Team. The selectors, Messrs. Thompson, Ward and Harvie, have selected the following representative team to represent the Piako association in the White Horse Cup competition:—Forwards, P. Harvie (Te Aroha), T. Prowse (Matamata), Hastie (Morrinsville), H. Sutherland (Matamata), Clearer (Te Aroha); halves, G. Moore (Te Aroha), H. Crickett (Morrinsville), B. Harvey (Morrinsville); backs, N. Harvey (Te Aroha), S. Wright (Matamata); goalie, J. Thompson (Morrinsville). Emergencies: C. Cooper (Morrinsville), Beatson (Te Aroha), P. Delaney (Matamata).
