HOCKEY DANCE.

A very successful social and dance organised by the Putaruru Ladies’ Hockey Club was held in the Putaruru Town Hall on Friday. The members of the club had taken great pains in decorating the building with greenery and bunting, the club colours, red, white and black, being prominent, and the general effect was very striking. The streamers and curtains were kindly provided by Mr. A. C. Leggatt. Mr. A. E. Barr Brown acted as M.C.,. while the supper arrangements were capably organised by Mesdames McLeod and Berg. During the evening a doll dance competition was won by Miss M. Rolfe and Mr. J. Dewse. The evening resulted in a profit of £6 being made.
