ON THE SCREEN.
Putaruru. Don’t miss seeing all about the “ Private Life of Helen of Troy.” It has comedy in generous quantities, it is satirical, sly, subtle, broad, humorous, whimsical and daring by turns. It is richly costumed, and displays sets, breath-taking in their magnitude, and striking in originality of design and pictorial effect.
Randell’s Pictures. One of the most laughable plays ever staged will shortly be seen, in film version, at Tokoroa and Te Whetu. This great laugh is entitled “ Cradle Snatchers,” and it deals with the comical situations which arose when three wives endeavoured to cure their sporting husbands of a fondness for flappers, by emulating their efforts, with school boys.
Arapuni Picture Palace. “ Quality Street," a British production, screened'on Saturday night, was described by a patron as the best film he had ever seen. It typifies the aim of the proprietor, who is ever seeking to secure the besf. In running a bus from Putaruru the previous screening for the benefit of one patron, the management gave further evidence of its keen endeavours to please patrons. The motto of this theatre is: Patrons first.
