WEDDING BELLS.

JACKSON—BUTLER. The marriage was celebrated on May 17, at St. Paul’s (Anglican) Church, Putaruru, of Syhrea, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Butler, of Tokoroa, to Edward Price, , eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Jack- j son, of Palmerston North. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. I Ward. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory crepe-de-chine and silver lace, with embroidered tulle veil, held in place by a circlet of orange blossom and 1 pearls and carried a shower bouquet of cream and pale pink chrysanthemums. Miss Sylvia Walker, of Tokoroa, friend of the bride, was the only bridesmaid, and wore a pretty frock ' of saXe blue crepe-de-chine with tulle veil held by gold leaves. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. L. Butler. After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Butler entertained the guests at Follett’s tearooms, where the wedding , breakfast was held and the usual toasts honoured. Later the happy couple left on their wedding tour, the bride travelling in a smart old rose repp frock with hat to match and a fox fur. Their future home will be in Palmerston North.

PEARCE—HARDING. A wedding was solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Matamata, on June 5, between Miss Alma Florence, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Harding, of Turanga-o-moana, and Mr. Wilfred Francis Pearce, of Auckland. The Rev. E. W. Turner performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very charming in a white satin frock with georgette panels and silver lace, wide belt fixed with diamante buckle; tulle veil with silver coronet and orange blossoms. She was attended by Miss Anne Harding (sister of the bride). The latter wore a rose crepe-de-chine dress trimmed with guipure lace, and tulle 1 headdress to match. Miss Harding was assisted by two flower girls, Miss Peggy Welch and Miss Eva Kelso (cousins of the bride), wearing pale pink and pale blue crepe-de-chine with silver lace, and headdress to match. The reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, 1“ Sanigar,” Turanga-o-moana. Many guests were present, including:— j Mrs. Harry Harding, mother of the bride, mauve crepe-de-chine frock with coat to match and fawn hat; Mrs. Pearce (Herne Bay, Auckland), mother of the bridegroom, wine i marocain frock with coat and [ hat to match; Mrs. Goodwin, bois-de-rose crepe-de-chine frock, hat to match; Mrs. Gunn, mauve garbadine coat frock; Mrs. Rich. Harding (Hamilton), tweed costume, fox fur; Mrs. Randal Welch (Wellington), navy coat frock and grey chenille coat, with hat to } match; Mrs. Steve Harding (WangaIr.ui), plum marocain frock; Miss Alberta Garland, navy blue coat frock

and fur; Mrs. Black, navy blue coat frock, Miss Iris Gunn, plum garbadine dress; Mrs. Kelso (Rotorua), wine garbadine coat frock; Mrs. Scatchard, bois-de-rose repp frock; Mrs. R. Harding, lavender repp and fox fur; Miss Pearce (Auckland), cornflower blue crepe-de-chine frock with black hat; Mrs. J. Boulcott, nigger brown costume; Mrs. Stonex (Auckland), rose marocain frock; Mrs. Follett (Putaruru), blue repp coat frock and fur; Mrs. Syd. 1 arding, mauve georgette 1 frock; Miss .da Harding, rose crepe-de-chine : Miss Violet McKenzie, tomato georgette frock with fawn coa. _.nd ji.it; Mrs. W. Harding, wine mepe-do-chine and hat to match; Mrs. Robert Pearce (Putaruru), bois-de-iuse repp and hat to match.

Messrs. Harry Harding, W. Pearce, Goodwin, Gunn, Rich. Harding, Randal Welch, Steve Harding, Black, Scatchard, Flavell, R. Harding, Boulcott, Follett, Kyd. Harding, Selwyn Oldham, Pearce (2), Richards, W. Harding, Robert Pearce, R. Gunn, K. Harding were also present. The bridegroom was assisted by his brother, Mr. Gordon Pearce, of Auckland. Mr. Ingham officiated ,at the organ. Many useful presents, including several cheques, were presented. The happy couple left for Wellington, amidst a shower of confetti, the bride travelling in a henna repp coat frock with hat to match, and blue velour coat with fox fur. The bride’s present to bridegroom was a set of xylonite military hair , brushes, and the bridegroom’s present to bride a fox fur.

MANNING—MIDDLETON. Knox Presbyterian Church, Morrinsville, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday, when Miss Doris Middleton, of Tatuanui, was married to Mr. Percy Manning, of Tatuanui, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Manning, of Wellington. Rev. J. H. Starnes performed the ceremony. The bride was attired in white embossed satin with coronet and veil. Mr. J. Grigg was best man. A reception was held at the Lounge Tearooms, Mrs. Middleton receiving in a smart navy costume with fawn felt hat and black fur. Mrs. Manning wore a pretty gown of apricot silk lace and ’ crepe de chine with fur coat. Mr. and Mrs. Manning will live at Tatuanui. WARD—MIERS. A wedding of interest in Tauhei was celebrated at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, on Wednesday, when Miss Janet Mary Sinclair Ward, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Ward, Tauhei, and Mr. Percy Henry Miers, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Miers, Rukuhia, were united in the bonds of holy matrimony. Rev. J. H. Starnes, of Morrinsville, officiated. The bride wore a pretty frock of white crepe de chine and silver lace and carried a beautiful bouquet of roses, jonquils and maidenhair fern. Miss Ethel Ward, who attended her sister as bridesmaid, wore rose crepe de chine and silver lace. Mr. Bromstra was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Haeremai Tearooms. The hostess, Mrs. Ward, was becomingly attired in a dress of black crepe de chine relieved with cream. The couple were the recipients of numerous valuable and beautiful gifts from a large circle of friends. On their return from their honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. Miers will take up their residence at Rukuhia.
