MOTOR NOTES.

GET ON THE MAP.

POINTS OF INTEREST. The A.A.A. is just about to print a new map and guide book. In each district there are special points of interest that should be included as improvements upon previous guides. To give one example, on the present map there appears “ Hot Springs,” but at a casual glance the stranger would not know whether the Okoroire or the Okauia springs were alluded to. On the new map it would be well to make this “ Okauia Hot Springs,” and the other “ Okoroire Hot Springs,” so that there may be no confusion. In each district also there are certain features of historical interest, such as Maori monuments or other links with the colonising days* These might also be mentioned in the guide book, and those who may know of such things should send the information in immediately. Many towns are wisely making bold bids for the tourist traffic, by provision of camping grounds and other attractions, and it is well to grasp whatever opportunities are offering in each district to put their respective claims to the forefront.
