HOCKEY.
LADIES’ CLUB. Decision to Continue. There were nine present at a meeting of ladies held in the Oddfellows Hall on Monday night with a view to resuscitating the Putaruru Ladies’ Hockey Club. Mrs. F. Rolfe was elected to the chair, and, having outlined the objects ®of the meeting, it was then unanimously agreed that an effort be made to re-form and carry on the club. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £5 9s Id, and it was agreed that the fees be as follow : Playing members ss, members 2s 6d. The election of officers resulted as follows : President, Mrs. F. C. Barnett ; vice-presidents, Mesdames A. G. Leggatt, W. Yandle, J. C. Tomalin and H. B. Coupe ; management committee, members present ; captain, Mrs. C. D. Brown ; vice-captain, Miss M. Sayers ; hon. secretary, Miss E. Rolfe. It was decided that the colours of the club be as formerly, black and white. It was agreed to hold the first practice next Wednesday and to arrange for coaching beginners.
