House property has not been easy to sell in the past few months in Christchurch, and where the would-be vendor desires a fairly substantial deposit, it has been harder still to quit. This had been brought home to a St. Albans resident, who has had a “ For sale ” board on his property for several montlis. About 60 prospective purchasers have been shown over it, but the highest deposit offered has been £SO, and the purchase price is £1750. The notice board is down now. The hall carpet was being worn by the constant tramping in and out of the £SO deposit people.
