FASHIONS OF TO-DAY.
The latest cable from Paris tells us —that slimness in repose and width in motion continue as the basic principle of skirts for sports, with fullness, drapery and the uneven hemline emphasised more strongly than ever for afternoon and evening. —that sports frocks, while still comprising the major portion of the wardrobe, are no longer worn from dawn to dark, but have given place for formal afternoon occasions to costumes of more feminine line and more elaborate material.
—that the asymmetrical line will be very important for spring, particularly as applied to necklines. —that yellow, especially for sports, holds a definite place in the fashionable colour range, that lavenders have high acceptance for the Southern season, and that beiges and blues will continue as leaders in the spring. —that bows are seen everywhere—on the shoulder, at centre-back of neckline, as side or centre-front of neckline, and on cuffs.
