METHUSELAH’S REAL AGE.

In an article in a recent issue of the Edinburgh Weekly Scotsman, a remark was made about Methuselah as if he actually lived 969 years. “EVen scientific writers” (says a correspondent of the same journal) “try to explain this by asserting that the kind of food at that time must have been quite different from what it is to-day. The truth is Methuselah lived 969 moons of 28 days, that is 70 years 3 months according to our Roman calendar. At that period, time could only be measured by the moon, and in China to-day time is still calculated by the moon. About the 11th century the first calendar by the Mahommedans appeared, and the Roman calendar about the 14th century.”
