MEMORIAL PARK.

MEETING OF TRUSTEES. The trustees of the Putaruru War Memorial Park are again faced with a shortage of funds chiefly owing to subscriptions to the various sections not coming forward as quickly as anticipated. The treasurer reported at a meeting this week that accounts totalling £35 were outstanding, while cash in hand amounted to £5. With a view to increasing interest among players who do not as a rule play in inter-club matches it was decided to arrange a match with Matamata at an early date between tennis, croquet and bowling players of each club, as many players as possible to be played. As some difficulty has been experienced in getting suitable supervision of the present oil engine which pumps water for the courts it has been decided to sell the engine and’ instal an electric motor.
