STOCK SALES.

WAIHOU. There was a good yarding of sheep and fat cows at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s stock sale at Waihou on Friday, while pigs were penned in good numbers. Prices were as follow: Sheep.—Fat shorn ewes, 17s lid to 18s; fat sheep, two-tooth, 24s Id; forward store wethers, 23s 3d; store lambs, 9s to I.ls Cd; small 5s 4d to 7s Cd. Cattle.—Three year forward steers £7; good quality fat cows and heifers, £7 5s to £7 10s; heavy fat cows, £5 12s to £6 4s; medium fat cows, £5 to £5 10s; light and unfinished cows, £4 os to £4 15s; fresh conditioned cows, £3 to £3 17s 6d; store cows, £2 to £2 12s 6d; cows -with calves at foot, £4 16s to £5 10s; bulls, potters, £3 10s to £6. Pigs.—Heavy baconers, £2 7s to £2 11s; lighter, £2 2s to £2 ss; porkers, £2 2s to £2 ss; light, 39s to £2 Is; stores, 25s to 28s; good slips, 19s to 22s 6d; best weaners, 12s to 16s; others, 7s to 9s.

MATAMATA. The first stock sale at Matamata in the new year was held by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. on Wednesday, when there was a fairly large yarding of pigs, and a good number of cattle penned. The prices were as follows: Sheep.—Fat ewes and wethers, 2tooth, 255; store lambs, woolly mixed, 10s 9d to 12s. Beef Cattle.— Fat cows, £6 to £7 7s; medium sorts, £5 2s to £5 17s 6d; lighter weights, £4 to £5; fresh conditioned cows, £3 6s to £3 16s; stores £2 to £3; boners, 25s 6d to 30s; potting bulls, £3 10s to £6 10s. Dairy Cattle.—Choice Jersey heifer calves, this season’s, £3; dry cows, £6; heifers, £B. Pigs.—Although the yarding was fairly large the demand was not very heavy. Weaners, 13s to 17s; smaller sorts, 6s 6d to 11s; slips, 17s to 22s 6d; good stores, 24s 6d to 295. MORRINSVILLE. There was a good yarding at Dalgety and Co.’s Morrinsville saie on Thursday. Beef was slightly easier but smaller stores were on a par with previous rates. Prices:—

Beef.—Light fat steers, £6 7s 6d; fat cows, light £4 8s to £5 10s, others £5 14s to £6. Fat heifers, £4 to £4 9s; cows and calves, £4 ss; 18-month:-in-calf Jersey cross heifers, £3 7s: Jersey calves, £2 10s. Dairy cows, £7 15s.

Pigs.—Porkers, 32s to 355; stores, ! £1 5s to £1 7s; weaners, 10s to 16s. o Sheep.—Cull lambs, 7s to 8s 3d; a small cull lambs, 6s lOd; sound e mouth ewes passed in at 14s 6d. n S ; HAMILTON.
