WEDDING BELLS.
WALLACE—JOHNSTON. A very pretty wedding* of great in- ! terest was solemnised by Rev. A. C. Hampton at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Matamata, on Tuesday, December 14, when Kathleen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston, was married to Mr. N. D. Wallace. The church was prettily decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked very charming in a sweetly-pretty dress of cream georgette over satin with silver braid. Her handsome veil of limerick lace was swathed round the head and fell in graceful folds to form a long* train. Trails of dainty j silver net flowers and orange blossoms were caught at the sides and I fell in a shimmering trail down to j the end of the train and finished in | a large true lovers knot in silver braid and pearls. She carried a magnificent bouquet of white and palest pink roses, carnations, sweet peas and sprays of maidenhair fern and streamers of cream satin ribbon. The bridesmaids, Miss Ruby Eddowes (Auckland), in delphinium blue georgette with rainbow braiding and blue crinoline hat, carried a pretty bouquet of pink sweet peas and carnations, while Miss Ella Johnston, sister of the bride, looked pretty in a lovely salmon georgette frock with rainbow braiding and blue and salmon crinoline hat. She carried a bouquet of delphiniums and pale pink roses. All the bouquets were the work of Mrs. A. H. Lambourne and were presented; by her to the bridal suite. Miss Gwen Johnston (flower girl) looked daintily pretty in a lavender georgette frock
and hat to match, and she carried a : basket of lavender and pink flowers. ; Mr. Wallace was attended by Mr. Earl Johnston as best man and by Mr. R. Bennett as groomsman. After the ceremony the numerous guests were entertained to a sumptuous , wedding breakfast at the Kensington Tearooms by Mr.. and Mrs. Johnston. Mrs. Johnston received her guests in a handsome gown: of navy silk marocain and fawn georgette, prettily braided in blue navy crinoline, and bois de rose hat. Among those present were : Mrs. A. H. Flett, Thames (cousin), bois de rose and green floral crepe de chine, bois de rose hat ; Mrs. Eddowes, Auckland, black and white j charmeuse ensemble suit, black and i rose hat ; Miss E. McCullagh, Cambridge, black silk marocain, black hat ; Mrs. K. Buchanan, figured crepe de chine ensembled suit, grey hat and coat ; Mrs. Fitzgerald, black silk and black and white hat. The bride’s going-away frock was a Rose du Barry gaberdine ensemble suit with cloche hat in same tones.
The presents were both numerous and costly, with several cheques. Included among the presents was a very handsome silver tea service from the~~Rx*cky "fiowns Golf Club, of which the bride and bridegroom were members.
