PUTARURU METHODIST CHURCH

A rally of the boys’ Bible classes in the district was held in connection with the Putaruru Methodist Bible Class last week-end. Representatives were present from Hamilton, Rotorua, Matamata, Waharoa, Tapapa and Tokoroa. On Saturday afternoon a visit was paid to Arapuni, and a social was held in the evening, when the new Bible class room was crowded with over 100 young people. Words of welcome were'spoken by Rev. C. W. Brown and were replied to by Mr. Donelly, of Te Kuiti. On Sunday morning the church was almost full, and an inspiring service was led by Mr. Donelly, assisted by members of the visiting* classes. In the afternoon a Bible class meeting was held, when “ The Purpose of the Bible Class ” was discussed, and a large attendance of young men had a profitable time. Tea was provided in the Bible class room, the members of the young women’s class also beinjr present. For the evening service the church was filled. The young men conducted all except the sermon, the preacher being Rev. C. W. Brown, who spoke from Mark 2-14, “ And He said, ‘ Follow Me,’ and he arose and followed Him.” The proceedings closed with the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, about 60 remaining to this sacred service, in which the minister was assisted by Mr. A. Benton and Mr. T. L. Hames.
