DAFFODIL SHOW.
SPLENDID EXHIBITION. First Putaruru Effort. 4 The first daffodil show to be held in Putaruru took place on Thursday, under the auspices of the Putaruru Anglican Church authorities. Despite the hig-h winds of the previous week there were some magnificent blooms ci; view, grown by Putaruru amateurs, while a fine display was also made by friends from other districts, notably those of Mr. Weightman, of Tirau, and Messrs. Hopkirk and James, of Cambridge. A noteworthy feature of the show were entries of school work from the Putaruru school, the writing being of a r.ai ticularly high standard. The show was well patronised throughout the (.ay, and during the evening when a piomenade concert was given, and proved a financial success. Among Lhose contributing imrns were: The Putaruru Orchestra; Mr. and Mrs. Gasparich; Mr. C. R. Alcorn; Mr. G. Brown; Mrs. Ward; MiSs Valentine. PRIZE LIST.
