CRICKET CLUB. Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of the Waotu j Cricket Club was held at Waotu On j Thursday, the 23rd inst. There was j a good attendance of members, and j much interest was taken in the pro- ] ceedings. The secretary presented the bal-ance-sheet for the 1925-26 season, and ! reported to the meeting that the prospects for the coming season were very I bright, and that there was every prog- j pect of the club being able to place a j stronger team than evSr in the field. ! The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. Tom Jones; president, Mr. W. R. Pass; vice-presidents, Messrs. Noonan, Dinney, Hargraves, Worthington, Weightman, Schute, G. Johnson, H. Barnett, and J. R. Simpson; secretary, Mr. W. Dodd; captain, Mr. V. Hanssen; vice-captain, Mr. G. Hanssen; custodian, Mr. D. Munro; selectors, the captain, vice-captain and Mr. H. Hanssen; delegates to association, Messrs. V. Hanssen and C. Tiller; umpires, it was reported that Messrs. G. Johnson and H. Worthington he recommended as umpires to the association.
