STOCK SALES.

MORRINSVILLE. Dalgety and Co. had a fairly large yarding of cattle, mostly dairy animals, at their fortnightly sale at Morrinsville on Thursday. The dairy cows sold at fair prices. The prices are:— Beef: Forward steers £6 to £6 10s, lighter £5 to £5 15s. Young stock: Yearling heifers, £1 15s. Dairy cattle: Good Jersey cows up to £lO, others £6 to £8 10s. Pigs: Small weaners 18s to 19s. MATAMATA. There was a good all-round yarding at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s regular stock sale at Matamata last week. Beef Cattle.—Fat cows £7 7s to £7 12s 6d, medium £4 2s to £5 10s, for-: ward-conditioned cows £3 to £3 15s, stores £1 to £2, fat heifers £5 7s 6d to £5 10s, potting bulls £4 to £4 12s 6d. Dairy Cattle.—Jersey cows £lO 10s to £ls, others £6 to £9 10s, Jersey heifers £7 5s to £lO 15s, others £3 10s to £6. Sheep.—Small hoggets 9s 6d to 14s 7d. Pigs.—Sow due to farrow £9 10s, others £2 to £5, sow with litter of seven £ll 15s, good stores 27s to 30s, weaners 14s to 225. HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards last week there was a fair entry of beef, the store cattle pens being, filled, while only a small number of sheep came forward, and a medium yarding of fat and store pigs. The values reached in the beef pens were not up to the standard of the previous week. Prices:— Medium prime steers £ll 10s, light £8 ss, prime heavy cows up to £lO, good-quality medium-weight prime heifers £8 Is, medium cows £7 5s to £7 15s, well-finished light £5 to £6, unfinished cows and heifers £4 to £4 12s, rough cow beef £3 to £3 10s, extra-good vealers £3 8s to £4 15s, lighter £2 10s to £3 2s, forwardconditioned well-bred four-year bullocks £8 to £9, same-age freshconditioned steers £6 19s to £7 16s, three-year to four-year store steers £5 18s to £6 16s, store cows £2 to £2 10s. Best dairy cows (well forward) £9 10s to £ll 10s, good spring calvers £S 5s to £lO, medium and backward sorts £5 15s to £6 10s. All classes of sheep were dull of sale ; fair-framed store ewes 10s, medium hoggets 13s, small 10s 4d. Pigs were firm at last week’s rates; heavy baconers £4 10s to £4 14s, medium £3 19s to £4 2s, good porkers and light baconers £3 11s to £3 15s, medium porkers £2 15s to £3 3s, light £2 5s to £2 12s, best Berkshire sows due to farrow £7 to £7 15s, fair £3 5s to £4 10s, store porkers 30s to 38s 6d, good slips and small porkers 27s to 325, small slips 15s to 235, weaners 12s 6d to £l. Lambs.—Market is easier owing to heavier supplies home-killed lamb and slower demand. No sign of settlement of coal strike. Mutton.—Market firm, with good demand. CLEARING SALES. MR. R. CASEY’S. The Farmer's’ Auctioneering Coheld a clearing sale at their Morrinsville yards last week on behalf of Mr. R. Casey, of Morrinsville. There was a large attendance of buyers and satisfactory prices prevailed. The 'prices are: Shorthorn, Jersey and Holstein cows, £lO to £l4, backward sorts £5 to £9; in-calf Jersey cross heifers £3 5s to £4 ss; bulls, to £7 15s; yearling Shorthorn and Jersey cross bulls £1 10s to £2 3s. MR. F. W. SEIFERT’S. Dalgety and Co. held a successful clearing sale last week on behalf of Mr. F. W. Seifert, of Morrinsville. The cows sold up to £lB, the average for 90 being in the vicinity of £lO. The prices are: Cows £6 to £18;: yearling heifers £2 to £3; farm horses £ls to £2O.
