CAR AND ROLLER.

ANOTHER COLLISION. Another collision has occnved between a motor car and the Matamata county road roller. On Friday night Rev. Father Silk was driving along the Mangawhero road in a threeseater car, Mr. T. A. Kemp and Mr. Bruff (veterinary surgeon) being- with him, when the car collided with the roller. Mr. Kemp was thrown out and partly stunned and Mr. Bruff was jolted against the framework and suffered a broken nose. Father Silk fortunately escaped unhurt, though the car sustained a considerable amount of damage. It is stated that the roller was showing a white light on the. v'rong side. Father Silk thought it was an approaching vehicle and acted accordingly, and when his headlights showed up the roller he swerved. Fortunately he was travelling so slowly that he was able to pull up immediately, even before b’s car passed the roller, the glancing blow not having prevented the travel.
