NEW POWER BOARD CHAIRMAN.
MR. F. M. STRANGE. Mr. Price Deputy Chairman. The annual meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board was held at Te Aroha on Thursday, when the chairman and deputy-chairman were elected as follows:—Chairman—Mr. F. M. Strange (representing Piako county). Deputy-chairman Mr. J. Price (Matamata town district). ELECTING CHAIRMAN. Mr. Thomas, proposing- Mr. Strange said that the board had reason to have confidence in him. He was the board’s first chairman and carried it through very trying times. Mr. Flatt, seconding, said the "board had had experience of Mr. Strange, as chairman, and believed he would carry on successfully. , Mr. Pohlen nominated Mi-. C. A. Arthur (Te Aroha borough). He felt quite 'satisfied that Mr. Arthur would make a capable man. Mr. Arthur was one of the original members. Mr. McCormick seconded. ; On "Mr. "Platt's suggestion, voting j was taken by ballot, in which Mr. j. Strange was successful, i Mr. Arthur congratulated Mr. ■ Strange on his election, saying that ! Mr. strange "had blazed the trail and i the speaker would follow him on that .trail. j Mr. Strange, iii reply, said he faced the future with great confidence on | account of the splendid foundations ! laic! by the past chairman (Mr. F.
