m STEP-SON’S CLAIM. Partially Successful. A claim for money lent made before Mr. W. G. Kenrick, S.M., in the Putaruru Court, when Charles Wilshaw, or McDonald, proceeded against his step-father for recovery of £l5O, which was stated: to have been advanced at various times. Mr. G. P. Portas appeared for the plaintiff, and there was no appearance of the defendant. Plaintiff, in his evidence, stated that he had lent his father various sums to pay off mortgages, etc., during the past few years. He first worked for his step-father from 1914 to 1916, and received no wages. In 1916 he worked ' for another blacksmith for 12 months, and l from August, 1919 to March 1920, he worked for a farmer for £3 per week and found. On April 20, 1920, he lent his father £95, and had givUt him other sums which altogether toI tailed £l5O. He had obtained no re- | ceipts. I Gertrude McDonald, mother of the previous witness, corroborated the , foregoing evidence, and gave details: of a property transaction for which part of the money was lent. I Judgment was entered for the 1 plaintiff for the amount of £95, plus: ! £2 10s costs.
