The population of Te Aroha at this year’s census is 2274, an increase of 84 on the 1921 census. The census figures for the Waihou riding of the Piako County Council show a total of 1626 (including 27 Maoris). ''The population at the previous census was 1392. It was decided to request the directors of the company to endeavour to formulate a similar scheme.
