PUTARURU HALL.
COMMITTEE MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Putaruru Public Hall Committee was held on Monday, when the following members were present : , Messrs. A. R. Vosper (chairman), C. Woodgate, T. F. Snell, R. McLeod, Rev. C. W. Brown and G. G. -Griffiths (secretary). An apology was received from Mr. L. C. M. Wilson for unavoidable absence. PAINTING HALL. Two estimates were put before the meeting of the cost of repainting the . hall, while the secretary pointed out j that the overdraft, after paying all I accounts outstanding, was approximately £237. On .the motion of Messrs. McLeod and- Woodgate it was decided to call for tenders immediately for paintingthe hall and outbuildings. The matter of specifications was left in the hands of Mr. T. F. Snell and the secretary. DOGS IN HALL. The caretaker reported that a certain person had refused to put a dogout of the hall when requested to do so. \ It was decided, on the motion of Messrs. Snell and Vosper, that the secretary be instructed to write to the person concerned, giving- a warningthat if the offence was repeated a prosecution would follow. SPECIAL MEETING. It was decided that a special meeting- be held on Wednesday, March 21, when the ladies’ committee would be asked to attend with a view to discussing means for raising- funds for painting- the hall. HALL FURNITURE. In view of complaints it was decided that none of the hall furniture should be allowed to be removed from the hall without the consent of .the caretaker, and that no consent should be given should the weather be wet. HALL CURTAIN. Mr. Woodgate handed in an amount J of £6 5s on behalf of Mrs. Aspden, I being- the profit of a picture show on I Easter Monday night, wh'ch sum was I donated towards the cost of a new projection curtain for the hall. On the motion of Messrs. Vosper and Snell it was decided that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mrs. Aspden. FOOTBALL PRACTICE. Mr. Griffiths, on behalf of the Putaruru Football Club, requested- the > use of the hall for coaching- players. After a lengthy discussion it was agreed to let the hall to the club at ' : os per two hours, provided certain - stringent conditions were observed.
