A most exciting game in the club’s pairs tournament for first-year players took place on Tuesday evening -between teams skipped by Parker and Snell. The game was an even one I and consisted of 15 heads. At the j 13th the score was a tie, 13 all. At the next head Snell' secured a 3 and made the scores 16—13. At the last
head Snell was lying 2 up when Parker with a 10-vely shot trailed the jack for a 3 and made the game a tie- An extra head being- necessary, Snell’s lead gave him two near the jack. Both skips appeared to be off their game in this head, Snell’s saving shots missing their object, while Parker was left with the last bowl of the game and was still two down. A beautiful shot followed, however, and breasting the shot ball Parker managed to lie one up and thus won the 'game. The teams were, Begbie and Snell and Hamilton and Parker. The finish proved most exciting and interesting and was watched by all players in the park.
