POWER BOARD BALANCE-SHEET.

AN ADJUSTMENT NECESSARY. The Thames Valley Electric Power Board’s balance-sheet for the year ending March 31, 1925, just recently returned from the Audit Department, was laid on the table at Tuesday’s meeting of the board. The following certificate was attached : “ The Audit Oifice, having examined the balance-sheet and accompanyingaccounts required by law to be audited, hereby certifies the same to be correct subject to the exception that an adjustment is necessary -between power fund and loan fund in respect of the cost of maintenance, materials, and other revenue account items acquired through the loan.” The chairman said that the past financial year had shown a credit balance of £4OO, and this was particularly gratifying seeing that this was considered to be the board’s most critical year. The balance from the trading account was £6333. The board should now be able to carry on without striking a rate.
