A HOME-MADE OVERALL.

A Magyar overall, particularly useful at spring-cleaning time, can be quickly made without a pattern. All that is neeessary is a piece of 40in. wide material twice the length of the wearer from shoulder to ankle, and two other pieces, each about 12in long, with which to lengthen the sleeves. The long piece of material is folded widthways fend a blouse or dress bodice laid on it, with the sleeves stretched out in order to indicate how and where the underarm seams are to be shaped. The straight pieces are joined to the little sleeves, the seams stitched, and the neck cut out in a semi-circle, back Sand front alike. The overall is then slit and hemmed down its whole length in the middle of the back, the neck faced down with a strip of crossway material and the bottom hemmed. Hooks and eyes or buttons and loops can be used las a fastening. If the sleeves are hemmed and threaded with elastic they can be worn either short or long.
