TIRAU.

A LONG NIGHT. During the winter months Mrs. G. W. Rapson organised a series of small semi-private dances, principally for beginners. These were very well patronised during the season and the session was brought to a close the other evening with a long night. Dancing was kept up till after midnight and a very nice supper was provided by the hostess. During the evening Mr. M. Coubrough, who acted as M.C., presented Mrs. Rapson on behalf of the class with a handsome leather suit case as a mark of appreciation. PASSING THROUGH. Tourists to and from Rotorua are beginning to motor through Tir.au, early in the season as it is. The Mayor and Mayoress of Auckland (Sir James and Lady Gunson) were guests at the hotel last week.
