WAIKATO HOSPITAL.

QUESTION OF / ADMITTANCE.

The question recently discussed by the Waikato Hospital Board as to whether a change in the present system of admitting patients to the public hospital was required has been taken up by the Waikato sub-provincial executive lof the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, which has forwarded the following resolutions for the consideration of the board:— 1. That it should not be necessary for any applicant for admission to the hospital to secure a certificate from an outside doctor. 2. That the hospital doctor should be bound to give, free, a certificate of discharge enabling a discharged patient to present his claim for insurance compensation. 3. That the board be requested to consider the advisability of inaugurating an honorary medical staff. The suggestions were referred to the House and Finance Committee for report.
