THE RABBIT BOARD. A meeting of the Tokoroa Rabbit Board was held some days ago. The members present were: Messrs. L. Hamilton (chairman), J. Campbell, J. E. West, D. Carr Rollett, and H. Cl el and (inspector). Wages accounts amounting to £l7O were passed for payment, this representing the cost of labour for the pollard poisoning during the past winter, the board’s first season. Inspector Cleland was authorised to obtain two experienced men for this work. Mr. J. Price was appointed the board’s local inspector. It was resolved that a small amount of pollard poisoning remaining on the board’s hands be distributed to any landholders desiring to use it. Accounts for sundry items amounting to £3O were passsd for payment, in addition to the wages. At the close of the meeting, three stock inspectors, Messrs. McDonald (Rotorua), Morris (Cambridge) and Cleland (Matamata), conferred and arranged for concerted action to prevent noxious weeds, especially blackberry, from obtaining a serious hold in the Upper Waikato.
