HINUERA.
GENERAL. There has not been “ much doing,” socially or otherwise, in Hinuera of late. A certain amount of practise with regard to coming summer sports has been indulged in, and there was a hall dance the other evening. On the farms matters are quet, but indications at the butter factory and elsewhere point to a record season. The grass here, in common with other places in the district, is now in splendid condition, and the greenness of the country-side is a matter of com- , ment among the travellers passing through. HALL DANCE. A most enjoyable dance, the first of a series to be held in aid of the Hinuera hall funds, took place in the hall the other evening. There was a good attendance, especially considering the strong counter attractions (two balls) that were being held in Matamata and Tirau respectively. The floor was in splendid condition and one and all enjoyed themselves tremendously. From the musical point of view, the dance airs played by Mesdames Ryan and F. Wade left nothing to be desired. The M.C. was Mr. C. Brown, and he carried out his duties in a most capable manner.
