BOWLING.
THE TIRAU CLUB. The balance-sheet of the Tirau club submitted at the annual meeting on Thursday night was one which might be the envy of many other clubs. Despite the fact that the club had only 18 members last year it wiped off the cost of a roller, mower, the laying down of an extra rink and the regrassing of the green, and now has a credit of £8 7s. The question of installing electric light for night play was well discussed and it was decided to instal •two arc lights. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. J'. W. Anderson; president, Mr. Alf. Totman; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. F. Rose, T. Little, W. Main, W. H. Main, E. Thorpe and A. Davis; hon. secretary, Mr. J. T. Eccleton; green superintendent, Mr. F. Rose; greenkeeper, Mr. J. Conn. Votes of thanks were accorded .to the several strong supporters who had assisted the club and to the secretary, Mr. J. T. Eccleton, for the energy displayed by him on the club’s behalf.
