STOCK SALES.
MORRINSVILLE. At Dalgety and Co/s stock sale at Morrinsville on Thursday there was a fair yarding of stock and a satisfactory sale resulted. The prices are:— Beef: Fat steers, £7 to £8; heifers, £4 to £5 ss; store cows, £1 9s to £2 3s; cows and calves, £2 9s to £3; yearling Jersey cross heifers, £2 15s to £2 19s; yearling Shorthorn cross heifers, £1 to £1 15s. Dairy cattle: Cows, £lO to £ls; others, £3 5s to £6 10s; heifers, £5 10s to £6 15s; others, £3 10s to £4 ss. Ten cows sold on behalf of the Official Assignee from Mr. A. C. Thynne’s farm realised from £2 to £7 10s, a heifer, £3 10s. Pigs: Weaners, 23s to 27s 6d; stores, £1 16s to £2 2s 6d; sows in pig, £4 12s 6d. CAMBRIDGE HORSE SALE. The highest price for the second day, when 200 draughts were offered, and for the sale so far, was £64 paid by Mr. R. Troughton, of Matamata, for a beautiful 4-year-old colt. Other good prices realised were £56 10s, £52 10s, £47 10s, £SO, £47 10s, £46, £46, £49, £49. A line of 16 horses on account of Mr. Jas. Taylor realised the fine average of £33 Is.
THE LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received the following cable from its London Office, dated September 12, 1924, advising Smithfield delivered prices at that date as follows, the figures for the previous week being given in parentheses:— N.Z. Wethers and Maidens: Canterbury quality, selected brands, 561 b and under, Bid (8id); 571 b to 641 b, B.id (Sid); 651 b to 721 b, 8d (8d). Other brands, 561 b and under, 81d (Sid); 571 bto 641 b, 8d (8d); 651 bto 721 b, 7id (75d).
N.Z. Ewes, 641 b and under, 6id (6id).
N.Z. Lamb: Canterbury quality, 361 b and under, 12id (12Tcl); 371 bto 421 b, llld (12d); 431 b to 501 b, lid (llid); seconds, llgd (llid).
